Hello, we are 4 french students living in Suzhou China and would like to do the Songpan horse trek.
We would be available from the 29th of October.
Can you plase let me know the plan for this tour and the price knowing that we are students on a budget?
Thank you
Dear Anais,
Thanks for your inquiry!
Since the riding conditions in Songpan are currently poor, we suggest Langmusi horse trek instead—it offers superior trails, scenery, and overall riding experience.I have sent you a detailed itinerary including a 3-day horse riding and the quotation with special discount for students for your reference. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Wishing you a great day!
Warm regards,
Eva
Hello,
We are a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 children age 10 and 11).
We will be in Shangri-La around March 31 – April 3.
We are looking for a 2-3day horseback trekking tour,
riding between Tibetan villages and grasslands.
Family-friendly pace and safe horses are important.
Could you send itinerary, price and availability?
Thank you.
Dear Greg,
Thank you for your inquiry. This is Sylvia from WindhorseTour.
We can certainly arrange a horseback riding tour in Shangri-La. Please note, however, that Shangri-La is located at a relatively high altitude, and the weather in early April can still be quite cold. If you are considering a camping-based experience, this may not be the most suitable time of year.
Please also note that horseback riding tours in this region are generally on the higher end in terms of cost. The riding portion alone is approximately 380 USD per person per day. This includes the horse, local riding guide, basic riding equipment, and meals during the riding/trekking period. Accommodation, additional English-speaking guide services, vehicle transfers, and other related services are not included.
I’ve prepared a detailed itinerary for your reference and shared it with you via email. Please take a look at your convenience, and feel free to share any thoughts, comments, or questions you may have.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Sylvia
Dear Windhorse Tour Team,
My friend and I are interested in booking a 3-day horse trekking adventure starting from Songpan.
We are two 39-year-old travellers with minimal riding experience, so we would prefer a route that is suitable for beginners. We are looking for a nature-focused experience with camping in the mountains.
Our travel window is between 30 March and 3 April, and we are flexible within those dates. We will arrange our own transport to Songpan and would only need the horse trekking portion of the trip.
Could you please let us know:
• Whether a 3-day trek is available during those dates
• If the trek includes an English-speaking guide
• What is included (horses, camping equipment, meals, etc.)
• The total cost for two people
Thank you very much, and we look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Jesse
Dear Jesse,
Thank you for your message!
Based on our recent guest feedback, the overall horse trekking experience in Songpan has not been as satisfactory as we would like. If you’re interested in horseback riding, I would recommend Tagong instead. It offers a more scenic and authentic experience and is also relatively convenient to reach from Chengdu.
Please note that in late March and early April, the grasslands around Tagong have not yet turned green, so the scenery may not be as vibrant as it is from June to August. Nevertheless, it can still be a beautiful time to visit, especially if you’re interested in the Tibetan plateau atmosphere and horseback riding.
If Tagong sounds interesting to you, I’d be happy to prepare a detailed itinerary and quotation, including information on the horses, camping equipment, meals, English-speaking guides, and other arrangements.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Delia

Thank you for your inquiry.
We'd love to arrange the horseback trekking tour for you. I have prepared a detailed itinerary and quotation for your reference and have shared it with you via email.

Hi Anna,
Thank you for reaching out regarding your trekking tour at Songpan. I'm Victoria Zhu, I'd be happy to assist you in planning your Songpan tour.
From your inquiry, I understand that you and your friend are looking for an overnight trek in Songpan.
Unfortunately, we do not offer trekking tours in the Songpan area. However, we do provide horseback riding and trekking tours around Langmusi or Tagong. Please let me know if you are interested in exploring these options instead.
If so, please specify your preferred start date and duration, and I will happily provide further details. I look forward to hearing from you!
Best regards

We are 2 adults + 2 children (boy age 9 + girl age 10). We would like to go horse riding in last week of Oktober 2026. Would it be possible to organize a 3-day horse riding tour (Songpan-Munigou / Munigou-Er'daohai / Munigou-Songpan)? Can you send me a quote please?
Dear Kristof,
Thank you for reaching out. This is Sylvia from WindhorseTour.
Thank you for sharing your interest in our Songpan horse trekking tour. I would like to share that we now highly recommend the horseback trekking experience in Langmusi instead of Songpan.
This trek offers breathtaking views of majestic snow-capped mountains, vast meadows, and pristine highland rivers, creating a truly unique alpine landscape. It also provides an authentic opportunity to experience the daily life of Tibetan nomads and to connect deeply with the rich local culture.
I have prepared a detailed itinerary and quotation and sent them to you via email. Please feel free to review the details and let me know if they meet your expectations. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
Warm regards,
Sylvia

Hello, I am interested for trip in september/october for 2 people. we will be travelling from beijing. please give me a quote :) thank you
Dear Crystal,
Thank you for your inquiry. This is Sylvia from WindhorseTour.
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to arrange horse trekking tours in Songpan, and we now recommend the horseback trekking experience in Langmusi. It is a great option if you are interested in Tibetan grasslands, local culture, and a more authentic outdoor experience. You will ride through the Tibetan plateau, stay with a local nomad family in a traditional yak hair tent, and experience their daily life.
I have already sent you the detailed itinerary and quotation by email. Please check your inbox (and spam folder just in case), and feel free to let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to adjust the trip.
We would be happy to help arrange this experience for you and your companion.
Best regards,
Sylvia
