Jiuzhaigou National Park

Jiuzhaigou National Park, located 350 km. (217 mi.) north of Chengdu, is a major feature of the Sichuan Scenic Area. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. Jiuzhaigou National Park is known as the habitat of giant pandas and for its many multi-level waterfalls and colorful lakes.

Nuorilang Waterfall is one of the defining symbols of the Jiuzhaigou National Park. As one of the most famous Jiuzhaigou attractions, the Nuorilang Waterfall can take your breath away. An observation tower is established on the opposite side of the Norilang Waterfall. Travelers can stand on the tower and have a panoramic view of the whole waterfall. The breathtaking scenery here is really amazing. In the morning, the waterfall bathes in the sun's bright rays and looks even more charming as the water sparkles with colorful rainbows. During the winter, the waterfall usually forms a huge ice curtain with countless icicles hanging on the cliff, creating a rare ice crystal world.

The other Jiuzhaigou attractions such as Five Colored Pool and Long Lake are as beautiful as the Nuorilang Waterfall. When you travel to Jiuzhaigou Valley, you should not miss these wonderful places. The Five Colored Pool presents various colors on sunny days when the lake ripples, shining with red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue and purple light. However, the Long Lake bathed in the sunshine looks like the jade palace in the heaven when you look at it from afar.

In the spring, the ice and snow in Jiuzhaigou National Park begin to melt and the flowers begin to bloom. You will be in awe of the natural beauty before your eyes. In the summer, Jiuzhaigou Valley will be drenched with lush green forests, and beautiful lakes reflecting the clouds above. However, autumn is the most magnificent of all seasons to be in Jiuzhaigou Valley. With colorful leaves, forests reflecting in the sparkling lakes and a bright clear sky. In winter, with the mountains and forests covered in snow, lakes frozen over, and water gushing between the iced waterfalls, Jiuzhaigou Valley turns itself into a winter wonderland.
