Leshan Grand Buddha is the biggest sitting Buddha in the world. And it was begun to built in 713AD in Tang Dynasty, took more than 90 years to finish this huge statue. And it sits at Lingyue Mountain, at the Giant Buddha Cliff, you will find out a lot of stunning small buddha caves, you will be astonished by this human project. In 1996 Leshan Grand Buddha was enlisted in the world natural and cultural heritage by the UNESCO.

Day 01 :
Leshan Grand Buddha 1 day tour from Chengdu

In the morning, your guide will meet you at your hotel in Chengdu and accompany you to Leshan, either by private car (approx. 2 hours' drive) or high-speed train (about 1 hour), depending on your preference.

As you travel, enjoy the scenic countryside of western Sichuan. Upon arrival in Leshan, visit the awe-inspiring Leshan Grand Buddha, the tallest stone sitting Buddha in the world. Carved into the cliff face at the confluence of three rivers, this 71-meter-tall statue was started in 713 AD during the Tang Dynasty and took more than 90 years to complete. The site also features smaller Buddha carvings and an ancient drainage system that showcases the remarkable engineering of the time.

You’ll have the option to take a boat ride (additional fee, 70CNY per person) to admire the Buddha from the river—a fantastic way to appreciate its full scale and surrounding landscape.

After your visit, return to Chengdu in the afternoon by either car or high-speed train, end this memorable cultural day tour.
