After check-in, enjoy a relaxing evening or take a short walk nearby to get your first feel of the city. Your guide is happy to suggest easy family-friendly spots to explore.
Start your day at Tiananmen Square, the symbolic heart of China. Walk through the historic space before entering the Forbidden City, where 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties once lived. Your guide will help bring the palace’s history to life with stories that both adults and kids can enjoy. Your visit will include stops such as the library of the princes, the Archery Pavilion (tools of the army gallery), and the Hall of Clocks and Watches, which displays exquisite 18th-century timepieces.
Continue with a short climb in Jingshan Park for stunning panorama views over the golden roofs of the Forbidden city and central Beijing.
In the afternoon, head to the Shichahai Hutong district for an engaging look at old Beijing life. Enjoy a rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes, visit a traditional courtyard home, and stroll along Yandai Xiejie, one of Beijing’s oldest commercial streets. Kids can try simple cultural activities such as Chinese calligraphy or paper cutting.
During the tour today you can participate in a Hanfu photo safari, dressing up in ancient costumes against historic backdrops and taking unique family pictures.

Afterwards drive to the Mutianyu Great Wall, one of the most family-friendly sections. Take the cable car up and enjoy plenty of time to walk along its watchtowers and mountain ridges. For extra fun, return by toboggan ride (optional, fee extra), a highlight for many kids.
Lunch options include simple Western food such as Subway or Burger King near the entrance, or you may bring snacks for a picnic.

In the evening, consider ending your day with Beijing’s signature dish, Peking roast duck, at a well known restaurant such as Quanjude or Da Dong.
