4 days Beijing Private Tour with Great Wall

Upon arrival in Beijing, your local driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore at your own pace. Overnight in Beijing.

After breakfast, set out to explore some of Beijing’s most iconic landmarks.

Begin at Tiananmen Square, the vast public square at the heart of Beijing and the site of many important national events.

Walk north to the Forbidden City, the former imperial palace of 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Explore its grand halls, courtyards, golden roofs and red walls as your guide shares stories of imperial life and the people who once lived and worked within the palace.

Continue to nearby Jingshan Park and climb to the hilltop pavilion for a panoramic view over the Forbidden City and central Beijing.

In the afternoon, visit the Summer Palace, China’s largest and best-preserved imperial garden. Stroll through its landscaped grounds, where lakes, hills, pavilions, temples and bridges create one of Beijing’s most beautiful historic settings.

In the evening, you may choose to watch a Kung Fu show or Peking Opera performance (optional, at additional cost) for another taste of traditional Chinese culture.

After breakfast, visit the Temple of Heaven, where Ming and Qing emperors once prayed for good harvests. The surrounding park is also a lively place to see local residents enjoying their morning activities.

Then drive about 1.5–2 hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall, one of the best-preserved and most scenic sections of the Great Wall near Beijing. You can hike up to the Wall or take a cable car for an easier ascent. Once on the Wall, walk between historic watchtowers and enjoy panoramic views as the Great Wall winds across the surrounding mountain ridges. Cable car, chairlift, and toboggan tickets are available at an additional cost.

On the way back to Beijing, stop at the 2008 Olympic Green for exterior views of the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube.

In the evening, you may choose to enjoy Beijing Roast Duck for dinner or, if your visit falls on a market night, explore Panjiayuan Night Market for local food, handicrafts, and an evening market atmosphere (optional). Overnight in Beijing.
