Arrive in Yichang and board your Yangtze River cruise in the late afternoon or evening. Most upstream cruises provide a shuttle from a designated meeting point in Yichang to Maoping Port, with boarding generally between 16:30 and 22:00.
After boarding, check into your cabin and settle in for your 5-day / 4-night upstream cruise to Chongqing. Depending on the ship, dinner and welcome activities may be arranged onboard.

After breakfast, visit the Three Gorges Dam, one of the world's largest hydroelectric power projects and a major highlight of a Yangtze River cruise.

Later, return to the ship and sail upstream through Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Three Gorges. Enjoy the changing mountain and river scenery from the ship before spending the evening onboard.

Today is one of the scenic highlights of your Yangtze River cruise.
Take a smaller boat into one of the Yangtze's scenic tributaries. Depending on your selected cruise, this may be Shennong Stream, Goddess Stream (Shennv Stream), the Lesser Three Gorges, or another scenic waterway.
Continue upstream through Wu Gorge, known for its forest-covered peaks and steep cliffs, and Qutang Gorge, the shortest and most dramatic of the Three Gorges.
Depending on the cruise program, you may also visit White Emperor City, the Three Gorges Summit or another attraction around Fengjie.

Continue upstream toward Chongqing and go ashore for another excursion along the Yangtze.

Return to the ship for your final afternoon and evening onboard. Depending on the cruise line, there may be cultural activities, entertainment or a farewell program.
