4 days Chongqing to Yichang Yangtze River Cruise

Upon arrival in Chongqing, meet your driver at the airport, railway station or hotel and transfer to Chaotianmen pier to board your Yangtze River cruise.

Boarding is typically between 17:00 and 20:00, with the cruise departing at around 21:00. After check-in, settle into your cabin and begin your 4-day / 3-night downstream journey from Chongqing to Yichang.

Depending on your selected cruise, dinner, a safety briefing or welcome activities may be arranged onboard.

Wake up to your first full day on the Yangtze River. Enjoy breakfast onboard and take in the scenery as your ship continues downstream.

A shore excursion is normally included during the day. Depending on your selected cruise, this may include Fengdu Ghost City, Shuanggui Mountain, Shibaozhai or another riverside attraction. Some cruises also offer additional optional excursions or evening performances.

Back onboard, relax and enjoy the facilities and activities offered by your ship. Depending on the cruise, these may include Tai Chi, cultural talks, welcome events or evening entertainment.

Some cruise ships may also offer additional optional shore excursions at extra cost.

Today is the scenic highlight of your Yangtze cruise as you sail through the famous Three Gorges — Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge.

Cruise through Qutang Gorge, the shortest and most dramatic of the Three Gorges, followed by the steep mountains and cliffs of Wu Gorge.

Depending on your selected cruise, an optional excursion to White Emperor City (Baidi City) may be available at additional cost.

Later, transfer to a smaller boat for one of the classic tributary excursions along the Yangtze. Depending on the ship and sailing, the included excursion may take you to Shennong Stream, Goddess Stream (Shennv Stream), the Lesser Three Gorges or another scenic tributary.

Return to your cruise ship and continue through Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Three Gorges. In the evening, enjoy dinner and the onboard program offered by your selected cruise, which may include a farewell event or entertainment.

After breakfast, check out and typically disembark at Maoping Port near Yichang for a shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam, one of the world's largest hydroelectric power projects and a major highlight of the Yangtze journey.

Depending on your selected cruise, an optional Three Gorges Dam Ship Lift experience may also be available at additional cost.

After the excursion, take the cruise company's coach to downtown Yichang, where your Yangtze River cruise ends. You will typically arrive at the designated Yichang cruise terminal at around 12:30–13:30, depending on the cruise arrangements and whether you join the optional Ship Lift experience.

If your WindhorseTour booking includes an onward private transfer, your driver will meet you in Yichang for your transfer to the railway station, airport or hotel.
