Covering two most famed ancient capital cities of Xian and Luoyang, this tour will showcase ancient Chinese civilization. Xian, known as the cradle of China'a birth offers you the most original ancient buildings, paintings, music and more. Compared with Luoyang which has a more gentler climate and cozy atmosphere. Experience unstrained Xian and elegant Luoyang these two historical cities of different style perfectly paired together.
When you arrive in Xian, you will be greeted by your local guide. Your guide will assist yo to checking in at the hotel. After you can rest and explore on your own.
Today's Xian tour will start with a one-hour drive to the suburb to visit the Terracotta Warriors, an imposing funeral art buried in the tomb of China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Discovered in 1974, this archaeological site is now known as the eighth wonder of the world, comprising more than 10,000 clay warriors and their chariots. One of the most amazing things about the Terracotta Warriors is that no two soldiers are identical, providing a unique experience for visitors to try to find a matching pair. You will have plenty of time to explore and take photos.
Afterward, you will drive back to Xian downtown, where in the afternoon, you will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a landmark of Xian. Built in 652 AD, the pagoda was initially built to house Buddhist sutras brought back from India by the famous monk Xuanzang. Here you can enjoy the fabulous traditional Chinese architecture and take a bird's-eye view of the city from the top.
Next, you will visit Muslim Quarters and the Great Mosque, which are intertwined with many small shops and rich ethnic atmosphere. Stroll through the narrow lanes, take in the rich smells, and immerse yourself in the local culture.
In the evening, you have the option to enjoy a delicious Dumpling buffet and an impressive Tang Dynasty Dinner Show. Overnight at Xian.
Today, your tour will begin with a visit to Huxian County, known for its Farmer Paintings. It will only take half an hour to drive there. Firstly visit the Peasant Painting Exhibition Hall, you will observe thousands of paintings depicting the daily life of people living in the area, including harvest scenes, children playing, and more. You will also visit a local farmer and observe how they create their paintings, and even try your hand at drawing one yourself.
Afternoon return to Xi'an and you will be arranged to visit Xian City Wall. It is one of the oldest and best-preserved city walls in all of China. If time allows, you can also visit Shuyuan Men with your guide to see an ancient Tang dynasty street, where you can taste some delicious snacks or buy souvenirs to take home.
Take the morning bullet train to Luoyang, where a local guide will meet you at the train station. Together travel to Longmen Caves which took an impressive 500 years to complete the massive carvings. The Longmen Grottoes are a massive example of the surviving Buddhist rock carving. A great show of religion, history and art.
After lunch, you will arrive in White Horse Temple, which is reputed as the first Chinese Buddhist temple. The legend says that the emperor had a dream about Buddha. So he sent two ministers to India to study Buddhism. Three years later, two prominent Indian monk came back along with the envoys and sutras on the back of white horse. The emperor decided to build a temple to house these artifacts and gave it name of White Horse Temple.
After visiting the ancient temple, you will return back to Luoyang. Time permitting explore the ancient city and overnight at Luoyang.
Today your tour will begin with a trip to the world-famous Shaolin Temple which will take you one and half an hour to arrive. The temple is against Mount Songshan. One of the five great mountains in China, with beautiful natural sightseeing.
The birthplace of popular martial arts and Zen Buddhism. One of the famous attractions here is the pagoda forest, the largest pagoda complexes in China. In fact, each pagoda is a tomb of a famous and prestigious monk.
