Itinerary
This 10-day private China tour combines Beijing's imperial landmarks with the karst landscapes of Guilin and Yangshuo before finishing in Shanghai.
Walk the Mutianyu Great Wall, cruise the Li River to Yangshuo, explore rural villages and karst scenery, and spend a night among the Longji Rice Terraces. In Shanghai, experience the city's historic and modern sides before visiting the canals and old lanes of Zhouzhuang Water Town.

Welcome to Beijing! Your private driver will meet you at the airport or train station and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore at your own pace.

Begin at Tiananmen Square before walking into the Forbidden City, the former imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Explore its grand halls and courtyards while learning about life inside China's imperial court.
Afterwards, climb Jingshan Park for a panoramic view over the Forbidden City's golden rooftops.
In the afternoon, visit the Summer Palace, a former imperial retreat centered around Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill. Enjoy a walk through its gardens, pavilions and lakeside scenery.
In the evening, you may enjoy a Beijing Roast Duck dinner or watch a Peking Opera or Kung Fu performance (optional, at additional cost).
Overnight in Beijing.
Start at the Temple of Heaven, where emperors once prayed for good harvests. The surrounding park is also a lively place to see local residents exercising, dancing and socializing in the morning.
Then drive about 1.5–2 hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall, known for its well-preserved watchtowers and mountain scenery. Spend time walking along the Wall and enjoying views across the surrounding ridges. Cable car and chairlift options are available for an easier ascent or descent.
In the evening, you may explore Wangfujing for shopping and dining, or visit Panjiayuan Night Market if it is a market night.
Overnight in Beijing.
Visit the Lama Temple, one of Beijing's best-known Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, with colorful halls, Buddhist statues and active worship.
Continue to the Shichahai hutongs, exploring the old lanes by rickshaw and on foot. Visit a traditional courtyard home for a closer look at life in Beijing's historic neighborhoods.
After sightseeing, your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Guilin. Upon arrival, your driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Freely explore Guilin on your own.
Overnight in Guilin.
Board the Li River cruise to Yangshuo, a 3–4 hour journey through Guilin’s famous karst scenery, passing limestone peaks, bamboo-lined riverbanks and small villages along the way.
After arriving in Yangshuo, head into the countryside to explore by bicycle, foot or choose an optional bamboo rafting trip on the Yulong River (optional, at additional cost). Travel among rice fields, villages and karst mountains, with a visit to a local farmer’s family for a glimpse of rural life.
In the evening, explore West Street on your own or watch the outdoor Impression Liu Sanjie performance (optional, at additional cost).
Overnight in Yangshuo.
Spend the morning exploring the Yulong River and Jiuxian Village, an old village surrounded by farmland and karst mountains. Walk through the village lanes and see traditional houses while enjoying the quieter rural side of Yangshuo.
Later, visit Xianggong Hill, where a short uphill walk leads to a panoramic viewpoint over the Li River winding between layers of karst peaks.
Continue about 3 hours by road to the Longji Rice Terraces, enjoying the changing mountain scenery along the way.
Overnight in Ping'an Village.
Spend the morning exploring the Longji Rice Terraces around Ping'an Village. Walk through the terraced hillsides and visit local minority villages while enjoying views that change with the season.
Several hiking routes are available, ranging from about 1 to 5 hours. Your guide can recommend a route based on your interests, fitness level and flight schedule.
In the afternoon, drive back to Guilin and transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, your driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.
Overnight in Shanghai.
Begin at Yu Garden, a classical Chinese garden of pavilions, ponds and rockeries, followed by a walk through the old streets.
Continue to the Former French Concession, exploring its tree-lined streets, historic residences and distinctive neighborhoods.
In the afternoon, head to Lujiazui and visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower for panoramic views over Shanghai and the Huangpu River. Finish at The Bund, where historic waterfront buildings face the modern Pudong skyline.
In the evening, you may take a Huangpu River night cruise or watch a Chinese acrobatics show (optional, at additional cost).
Overnight in Shanghai.
Drive to Zhouzhuang Water Town, a historic Jiangnan town known for its canals, stone bridges and traditional houses.
Walk through the old lanes and along the waterways to see the Twin Bridges, then visit Shen's Residence, a historic merchant residence with traditional halls and courtyards.
You may also take an optional boat ride along the canals before returning to Shanghai in the afternoon.
