Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Chengdu airport, our friendly staff will be there to greet you and provide comfortable transportation to your hotel. Relax and settle in as you prepare to explore the vibrant city of Chengdu. Enjoy a restful night at your hotel, ready to embark on exciting adventures in the next days.
In the morning around 09:00, you will be met and transferred to Leshan. Enjoy the beautiful countryside landscape of western Chengdu Plains during the two-hour drive on the expressway. In Leshan, visit the Lingyun Temple to see the magnificent sitting Buddha sculpture.
The Leshan grand Buddha, completed in 803 during the Tang Dynasty, is the largest sitting stone sculpture in the world, standing at a height of 71 meters. Carved on the cliff face, it showcases impeccable design with a perfect balance and an effective water drainage system. You also have the option to take a boat tour to see the Leshan Grand Buddha.
In the afternoon, drive back to Chengdu and stroll through the charming Wide and Narrow Alleys, admiring the blend of traditional and modern architecture. Indulge in delicious local snacks along the way.
In the evening, consider attending a cultural show such as Sichuan Opera (fee is not included), known for its impressive performances including fire-spitting and face-changing acts.
In the morning, around 07:30-08:00, you'll be transferred to the Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center. Witness the pandas during feeding time, marveling at their playful antics and adorable cubs. Immerse yourself in their world with a captivating film at the Panda Story Cinema.
Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and continue exploring People's Park and soak in the lively atmosphere as locals engage in various leisure activities. Take a relaxing moment to sip tea at one of the open tea houses.
In the late afternoon, you will be dropped off at Chengdu airport for your flight to Jiuzhaigou (Or take the train from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou). Upon arrival at Jiu-huang airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy an overnight stay in Jiuzhaigou.
(Commencing operations on November 28th, 2023, the train route from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou is now accessible. This offers a viable alternative to flying for travelers headed to Jiuzhaigou. The train journey takes approximately 1 hour and 44 minutes, culminating at Zhenjiangguan train station near Songpan. Upon arrival, a local guide will be awaiting you to facilitate transportation for a visit to Huanglong.)
You will have a full day to explore the breathtaking Jiuzhaigou National Park. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the park, with its stunning lakes, waterfalls, and Tibetan villages. You can choose to take the inside sightseeing bus for convenient transportation or explore the park on foot for a more immersive experience. In the evening, there is an optional Tibetan culture show available for you to enjoy (price not included). Spend the night in Jiuzhaigou, taking in the tranquility of the surroundings.
In the morning, you will embark on a scenic drive from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong, which takes approximately 3 hours. Huanglong National Park is known for its stunning colored lakes and picturesque landscapes. Upon arrival, you will have 3-4 hours to explore the park and witness the mesmerizing beauty of the colorful lakes. Depending on your health condition, you may choose to climb the mountain to further immerse yourself in the natural surroundings, or you can take the optional cable car ride to Huanglong Temple (fees not included). Afterward, you will drive to Chuanzhusi airport for your flight from Jiuzhaigou back to Chengdu. Chengdu airport pick up and transfer to hotel for overnight.
(If you choose the train option, your guide will accompany you to Zhenjiangguan train station near Songpan to catch the late afternoon train to Chengdu. This train departs at 18:08 and arrives at Chengdu East Train Station by 19:52.)
In the early morning, you will be dropped off at Chengdu airport for your flight to Zhangjiajie. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a local guide who will accompany you throughout your days in Zhangjiajie. Your first stop will be Tianmen Mountain, located just eight kilometers south of Zhangjiajie Village. This scenic area is designated as the second national forest park in Zhangjiajie and is renowned for its majestic peak that rises nearly 1,520 meters (about 4,987 feet). Tianmen Mountain is often referred to as the "soul" of Zhangjiajie due to its breathtaking natural beauty, including graceful trees, karst hillocks, and a rich variety of medicinal herbs and plants. The mountain is home to the "four wonders," which include the Tianmen Mountain Cableway, Tongtian Dadao (Avenue Leading to the Sky), Tianmen Cave, and Bonsai Garden on Air. During your visit, you will also have the opportunity to explore cultural scenic spots such as Tianmen Mountain Temple and experience a thrilling walk across the glass walk balcony.
If time permits, you may choose to embark on an optional adventurous walk across the Glass Bridge at Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. This exhilarating walk takes approximately 40 minutes and offers breathtaking views (additional fees apply).
On the 2nd day of your Zhangjiajie tour, you will have the opportunity to explore the breathtaking natural wonders of Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.
Your adventure begins with a thrilling ride on the highest and fastest open elevator in the world, which will take you to Yuanjiajie, often referred to as the "Backyard Garden" of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. This nature reserve is a core scenic spot of the Wu Lingyuan Nature Reserve, boasting unparalleled scenic splendors of magnificent mountains and peculiar peaks. With a total area of 1,200 hectares and an altitude of 1,074 meters, Yuanjiajie is home to the famous First Bridge. This natural stone bridge spans 20 meters across thin air between two peaks, forming a stunning arch. As you explore this area, you will be immersed in majestic views of steaming valleys, evaporating moisture, swaying pines, and whistling winds.
After lunch, you will visit Tianzi Mountain, named after the leader Xiang Dakun, an uprising figure of the Tujia ethnic minority group. Tianzi Mountain, often hailed as the "king of all mountains," offers captivating vistas of seas of clouds and mist. Particularly after rain showers when the sky clears, the scenery becomes even more enchanting.
After a day filled with natural wonders and breathtaking views, you will spend the night in Zhangjiajie, ready for more adventures in the days to come.
Zhangjiajie is renowned for its unique mist-shrouded "peak-forests," creating a surreal and otherworldly landscape. On your 3rd day of your Zhangjiajie tour, you will have the opportunity to explore some of Zhangjiajie's iconic attractions - Huangshizhai, Golden Whip Creek and Four Creeks Gate.
Begin your adventure by taking a cable car to the summit of Huangshizhai. From there, you will be treated to a panoramic view of the mountainside, with its towering peaks and enchanting primeval forests. The mist swirling around the peaks adds an ethereal touch to the scenery, making it a truly mesmerizing experience.
Next, you will visit Golden Whip Creek, named after a whip-shaped rock found by the creek. This deep valley is a haven for exotic flowers, plants, caves, ponds, and fascinating rock formations. As you stroll along the creek, you will be captivated by the beauty of the surroundings and the serenity of nature.
Afterward, you have the option to visit a local Tu minority's house to gain insight into their way of life and enjoy a dinner featuring local cuisine (additional cost, optional). This is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and savor the flavors of the region..

Chinese National Holidays fall from October 1st to 7th, so most people return to work on October 8th, so there is no big difference on October 7th or 8th. However, Jiuzhaigou is always very crowded for the first 2-3 weeks of October because that's the best time for the autumn views!

Thanks for your inquiry. But I am sorry to tell you that we don't have group tour for the 8 day Jiuzhaigou and Zhangjiajie tour, we only provide private tours for this itinerary, which means two of you will be a small group, accompanied by your own guide and car.

As you will travel during our National holiday which is considered as the golden week of tourism, the tour costs a bit higher than usual. So you may look for more travelers to join your group to reduce the cost. If you are interested, I can work out quotation based on different group size.
