7 days Chengdu - Jiuzhaigou tour and Yangtze Three Gorges cruise
Itinerary
Jiuzhaigou, the fairyland in China, is the first destination of this tour. The colorful natural lakes, waterfalls, virgin forests and Tibetan villages, every stop in this national park is filled with spectacular scenery. Next up a 3 days Yangtze cruise to explore the most essential spots along the River. Immerse yourself by discovering these two different natural landscapes of China in this one week journey.

This tour starts in Jiuzhaigou, a famous national park, as well as a UNESCO heritage site in Sichuan province. The name "Jiuzhaigou" literally means “Nine Village Valley,” named for the nine Tibetan villages scattered throughout the park.
Upon arrival, be greeted by a local guide and get settled into the hotel next to the park. The rest of today is left for you to take a break. Your fabulous journey starts tomorrow.

Spend the whole day to explore Jiuzhaigou, and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes in this natural fairyland. Three valleys in Jiuzhaigou National Park have been opened to public, which contains 114 lakes, 17 waterfalls, 11 rip currents, and 5 travertine beaches. Immerse yourself into the fabled blue and green lakes, spectacular waterfalls and mysterious forest. Along with the stunning scenery, the local Tibetan folk customs create a truly exotic land of wonder.

Morning drive to Huanglong National Park. Well known for the colorful ponds and waterfalls, snow mountains, gorgeous valley, and dense forest, Huanglong has also been listed as a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. The colorful ponds glisten like blue crystals; some will also turn to red or purple under the sunshine.
Since Huanglong National Park is at high altitude, you can either enjoy the tour on foot or by cable car depending on your desires and abilities. In the late afternoon, say farewell to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong as you will be driven to the airport for the flight to Chengdu.

Have a pleasant panda tour in Chengdu Panda Base this morning. Spend a couple hours to get close to the adorable giant pandas, observe the morning feeding of pandas and learn about this rare animal through the museum. Afterward, take a bullet train to Chongqing, the starting city of your Yangtze River Cruise. Drive to the pier to board on the ship. As the ship sails in the evening, your amazing Yangtze River journey starts.

As an important cradle of Chinese ancient civilizations, Yangtze River is famous for the breathtaking natural landscapes and abundant heritage sites along its two banks. In the following three days, you will visit several highlights along with the cruise and have a glimpse of the spectacular panoramas.
Fengdu, which is situated 170 km. (110 mi.) from Chongqing, is the first spot to visit during your cruise. This town is famous for the ghost city, which presents a unique culture of the ghosts in ancient Chinese folktales, and the resting place of the spirit of the dead. During your visit, the local guide will tell you some interesting folktales of Chinese ancient ghost culture. Dinner and Supper are offered on board.

The highlights of the Yangtze River Cruise is coming today as you will travel through the Three Gorges to view its picturesque scenery. Composed of Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge, the Three Gorges has a total length of approximately 120 km. (75 mi.). Along with the steep cliffs and torrential river, you may also be immersed by the abundant historical relics and cultural sites while sailing through the gorges.
Based on the season and your requirement, have a short cruise to the Little Three Gorges or take a pea-boat floating along the verdant Shennong Streams as you sail on to the border between Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge. Rip currents, lofty peaks and mountains, gorgeous Karst caves and beautiful waterfalls will always accompany you on the way.

The wonderful Yangtze River Cruise ends with a visit to the Three Gorges Dam, largest and most magnificent hydroelectric project in world. This permanent wall has been erected at a height of nearly 600 ft. high (185 m.), to harness the Yangtze River, and offers a huge source of hydropower for China.
As you disembark in Yichang at noon, the guide will assist you to the airport or railway station for departure. Wish you have a pleasant journey home, and WindhorseTour is ready to help adjust this tour in any way to better suite your personal travel needs.

Dear Wong,
Thank you for the enquiry. This is Anita from WindhorseTour.
We would love to make your trip happen. But before I can work out the tour plan with quotation details for you, could you kindly advise when you prefer to travel to Jiuzhaigou and take the cruise?
By the way, the tour ends in Yichang, where you can take the flight to Shanghai or other cities for your flight back, so it's not necessary to fly back to Chengdu.
Hope to hear from you back soon.
Best Regards,
Anita
