The tour not only visits the historic palaces and functioning monasteries, but will also pass through the breathtaking natural scenery of the Tibetan plateau, such as turquoise Yamdrok Lake, the mighty Nyenchen Kangsar glacier and past the great peaks of Himalayans, ending with the spectacular view of the world's highest mountain - Mt. Everest, a once in a lifetime view. Overall, the tour will definitely enrich your knowledge of the high plateau and rich culture of western Tibet.

Lastly, you will walk through Barkhor Street, a popular Kora (holy walking path) which surrounds the Jokhang Temple. Always full of Tibetan faithful, visitors may find mingling with local pilgrims around the Barkhor Street uniquely engaging. It is also a popular shopping district where you can buy gifts for your family and friends. (B)=breakfast

A short stop at Karola pass to overlooks Mt. Nyenchen Kangsar glacier. Gyantse Kumbum is one of the most stunning architectural wonders in Tibet. A Kumbum is a type of Tibetan chapel, and Gyantse's boasts multiple levels and 108 small chapel rooms.

I will be a single traveler from the US.

I am 63 and have Type 1 diabetes, so I have certain needs. Are there any issues carrying insulins (2 different types), syringes and blood testing equipment (lancets, blood test strips, meter)? I also need to have carbohydrates with me at all times. Am I able to carry these with me? Are there any restrictions I need to be aware of, any problems with carrying any meds I need to take? I take 8/9 insulin shots/day.

Also, please send me information I need to be able to travel to Tibet. I have a passport but do I need any special visas or medical shots in order to visit your country?

All the information you can send will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for contacting us. We advise the people with diabetes do not travel to Tibet, because that would be too risky. Anyhow, we suggest you consult your doctor before you make any decisions.
Hope above suggestion is helpful and please feel free to contact us for any further assistance.
Cheers,
Murphy
