9 days World heritages Sichuan tour
Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Chengdu airport, you will be picked up by your local guide and driver and transfer you to your hotel in Chengdu downtown. This first day is for you to unwind and rest. You will spend the night in Chengdu.
In the morning, around 7:30 to 8:00, your guide and driver will meet you in the lobby of your hotel and head to the Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center, which is just a half-hour drive away. This is the perfect time to catch the pandas during their feeding time, as they are most active and enthusiastic while enjoying their breakfast. You'll have the opportunity to observe both adult and baby pandas as they munch on fresh bamboo.
At the Panda Story Cinema in the center, you gonna watch a film that provides insights into a panda's daily life, from their birth and early stages to their dating and mating behaviors.
Afterward, return to downtown Chengdu for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Jinsha Site Museum to explore the rich culture of the ancient Shu Kingdom.
In the late afternoon, take a leisurely stroll around Jinli Ancient Streets, where you can sample a variety of delicious snacks and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere.
In the evening, you have the option to enjoy a cultural show - Sichuan Opera at a local tea house or theater (please note that the fee for this is not included). Your overnight stay will be in Chengdu.
Today your tour starts at 8:00 AM when your guide and driver pick you up from your hotel and drive about 1 hour to Dujiangyan where you'll visit the ancient Dujingyan Irrigation System, constructed over 2,200 years ago during the Qin Dynasty. It's known for its innovative design, diverting water from the Minjiang River to support local agriculture. You'll explore its key features, including Yuzui, Eishayan, and Baopingkou, which ensure efficient irrigation and prevent flooding. After lunch, you'll head to Mt. Qingcheng, a sacred Taoist mountain renowned for its natural beauty and spiritual significance. You'll explore Taoist temples, lush landscapes, and historical sites like Jianfu Palace, Shangqing Palace, and the Tianshi Cave, accessed via cable car, normally we suggest our clients to take the cable car up and walk down. You'll return to your hotel in Chengdu in the late afternoon for a well-deserved rest.
Around 08:00 in the morning, you will be met and transferred to Emeishan. En route, take in the picturesque countryside landscapes of western Chengdu Plains. Upon reaching Emeishan, you will visit Baoguo Temple. Following your visit there, you will board the local sightseeing bus to Leidongping, where lunch will be provided.
From Leidongping, embark on a short 15-minute walk to Jieyin Hall. Here, you will take a cable car to ascend to the Golden Summit, although you also have the option to hike up, which takes approximately 2 hours. At the Golden Summit, explore the Huazang Temple and the Golden Summit Buddha Statue. If you're fortunate, you may witness the mesmerizing phenomenon of the clouds sea and the Buddhist Halo in the late afternoon.
Overnight accommodation will be provided at the Golden Summit Hotel, a 3-star hotel.
Begin your day with an early morning excursion to witness the mesmerizing sunrise at the Golden Summit. On clear days, you'll have the opportunity to behold Gongga Mountain, the highest peak in Sichuan, often referred to as 'the King of Shu.' Following this breathtaking experience, you will take a cable car and sightseeing bus to descend to Baoguo Si bus park. Our driver will meet you there and drive you to Leshan.
In Leshan, you'll visit the awe-inspiring Lingyun Temple to see the colossal sitting Buddha sculpture. This grand Buddha, completed in 803 during the Tang Dynasty after 90 years of construction, is renowned as the largest sitting stone sculpture globally, standing at a majestic height of 71 meters. Carved into the cliff face, the sculpture showcases impeccable design, perfect balance, and an efficient water drainage system. Optionally, you can choose to embark on a boat tour to view the Leshan Grand Buddha (additional fee applies).
In the late afternoon, you will be transferred back to Chengdu, where you'll check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.
In the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Chengdu airport for your flight to Jiuzhaigou. Approximately 40 minutes later, you will arrive at Jiu-Huang airport, where your local guide and driver will be waiting to greet you. Your next destination is Huanglong park, renowned for its captivating features such as colorful lakes, stunning landscapes, snow-capped peaks, glaciers, waterfalls, and serene monasteries. Depending on your physical condition, you can explore the area on foot or opt for the cable car (we normally suggest cable car up and walk down). You will have 3-5 hours for exploration here. Afterward, drive to Jiuzhaigou (about 2-2.5 hours drive) for your overnight stay.
Please note that the cable car at Huanglong Park is not operational from December 16th to the end of March during the winter season. If you wish to visit Huanglong during this period, be prepared for a walk up and down, which may be challenging for some individuals. Alternatively, you can choose to visit Munigou scenic park for easier access.
(Commencing operations on November 28th, 2023, the train route from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou is now accessible. This offers a viable alternative to flying for travelers headed to Jiuzhaigou. The train journey takes approximately 1 hour and 44 minutes, culminating at Zhenjiangguan train station near Songpan. Upon arrival, a local guide will be awaiting you to facilitate transportation for a visit to Huanglong.).
Jiuzhaigou, China's premier national park, is situated between the Sichuan Basin and the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Within its boundaries, you'll discover a pristine environment adorned with crystal-clear lakes, enchanting waterfalls, untouched virgin forests, endangered plant and animal species, as well as traditional Tibetan villages. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the tranquility and breathtaking scenery of Jiuzhaigou.
To explore this natural wonder, you can board a pollution-free sightseeing bus that will take you to the top of the valley, from where you can embark on a walk downhill, allowing you to savor the beautiful landscapes along the way. Jiuzhaigou valley derives its name, "Nine Village Valley," from the nine Tibetan villages that are scattered throughout the park. In the evening, you'll have the opportunity to experience a local Tibetan-Qiang minority culture show, offering insights into their intriguing way of life. Your overnight stay will be in Jiuzhaigou.
After breakfast, you will be driven to Jiuzhaigou airport to catch your flight back to Chengdu. Upon your arrival at Chengdu airport, our driver and guide will be there to greet you and provide transportation to your hotel, where you can unwind and relax. The afternoon is free for you to engage in leisure activities of your choice. You will spend the night in Chengdu.
(If you take the train, then your guide will drop you off at Zhenjiangguan train station near Songpan to catch the noon train to Chengdu - C6378, departs at 12:43pm, arrives at 14:27 at Chengdu East Train Station).
The trip concludes with a drop-off at Chengdu airport.
