This tour will give you the experience of both high plateau scenery in central Lhasa and green mountains and clear water in Eastern Tibet - Nyingchi area. You will not only visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung, Norbulingka summer palace and Sera monasteries in Lhasa, but also the gorgeous alpine lake of Draksum-tso in Nyingchi, eastern Tibet. Nyingchi area is also known as the 'Switzerland of Tibet', 'the Natural Museum' and 'the Natural Gene Pool'.
Upon arrival at Lhasa airport or train station, You will greet by your tour Tibetan tour guide & driver and will transfer to your hotel / hostel in Lhasa, from the airport it is 68km to Lhasa and it takes one and half hour, from the train station it is only 15km and it takes 20 minutes. Today is your first day of sightseeing on the high plateau, so we have purposely arranged only to visit Jokhang temple and Potala Palace. Jokhang temple is the most scared shrine in Tibet which was built in 7th century and located at the heart of old town in Lhasa, the circuit around it called Barkhor street, which is a good place to purchase souvenirs. Potala Palace is the worldwide known cardinal landmark of Tibet. The massive structure itself contains a small world within it. Mostly it is renowned as residence of the Dalai Lama lineages (Avalokiteshvara). Both of them are the focal points of pilgrims from entire Tibetan world, multitudinous pilgrims are circumambulating and prostrating in their strong faith. Overnight at Lhasa.
Today you will be arranged to visit Drepung monastery in the morning and Sera monasteries in the afternoon. Both Drepung and Sera monasteries are Gelugpa (yellow hat) sect monastic colleges. Drepung monastery was the seat of the Government prior to Potala, it was once the world largest monastery in the history with 10,000 monks hailed from different monasteries all over Tibet. Sera monastery is famous for its Buddhism philosophical debate practice, the clapping sound and aggressive expression of the monks are well worth to see. Overnight at Lhasa.

After breakfast, drive from Lhasa to Bayi, cross over Mila Pass (5100m), enjoy the scenery along the Niyang River. Afternoon visit Basum-Tso lake, which is a stunning highland lake lying 90 kilometers west of Kongpo Gymdo County. This holy lake is beautified by its surrounding landscapes from green & forested mountains to snow capped peaks, and is connected to the semi-mythical ruler of the Kham region and Guru Rinpoche. The joint board floating bridge is the only way to the Tsodzong island, here you will visit the Tsodzong Monatery amid of the trees, which is most probably the highest attraction of this site. Then retrace the way to the Highway that joins at Pahe village and continuous drive about 79km further to Bayi. Overnight at Bayi.
Morning visit the Giant Cypress Forest, then leave Bayi town and drive to Lunang Forest Area by crossing the Serkhym-la pass which is over 4500m. Lulang Forest sea is covered by woods and with a lot of cuckoos in the woods, as well as the broad meadow with flows of cattle around the villages. At the Lulang Forest viewing platform you will have good views of Namche Barwa (7756m), Gyala Pelri, and other snow capped mountain peaks. Afternoon drive back to Bayi. Overnight at Bayi.
Your guide and driver will see you off at Nyingchi airport, take the flight to Chengdu, end the trip.
