Tour Features: 

Songpan Horse Trekking Tour Tips:

  1. A big different temperature between day and night, suggest to bring your warm clothes.
  2. Horse trekking in the forests and mountainous is a hard job and altitude sickness always comes in this trip. Be sure in a good physical condition. If you get some uncomfortable reaction, please tell the guide immediately.
  3. Kindly treat horses as the local people. Please don't chase or run horses during the trip and move suddenly or shout in front of a horse in case you frighten them and cause accidents. NO FLASH when you take photos with horses.
  4. Respect the local custom. You will get along with the local residents for several days and you will find the different lifestyles. Let the local people know that they are equally treated.
  5. Pay attention to enviroment protection. Collect all the rubbish and take it back.
  6. If some accidents happened because you didn't follow the tour guide's instructions, you should be responsible for the accidents.
  7. Program may change depending on road conditions, weather.
  8. Each member will have his or her own guide, please don't worry about the riding skills.
Tour Itinerary: 
Day 01:
Chengdu / Songpan by bus

Take a public bus from Chengdu to Songpan (Included in the our pice), about 7 hours. The local tour guide will pick you up when you arrive at Songpan bus station and will tell you the horse riding itinerary of the following days. Overnight at Songpan local hostel / hotel. B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner

Day 02:
Songpan County -Mounigou Erdaohai horse riding (L+D)

Songpan Horse TrekkingToday you will have a totally new experience, you will start your horse back riding journey after the food supplies and cooking utensils are loaded on the packhorses by the guides.  You will ride for 4-5hours to ErDaoHai Lake (36 km from Songpan town). The region is famous for having many lakes;  you will see Toudao Lake, Swan Lake and Feicui Lake, and many others. The guide will choose good places to break for lunch and dinner. You will camp overnight near ErDaoHai Lake.

Day 03:
Munigou Er'daohai - Kuangquanshui horse riding (B+L+D)

After breakfast, you will leave ErDaoHai Lake and head for Jadeite Spring (KuangQuanShui). On the way you will pass Rensen (Ginseng) Lake, Flower Lake, Stone Forests, Moon Lake and many other scenic spots. The guide will choose suitable places to break for lunch and dinner. You will camp near Jadeite Spring.

Day 04:
Mounigou Valley-Songpan county (B)

After breakfast,  you will return to Songpan. On the way, you will see Mallard Lake and pass through SanLian and MuNi towns. Upon arrival at Songpan, you can wait till next day to come back to Chengdu or head to Jiuzhaigou.

Day 05:
Sonpan / Chengdu (or Jiuzhaigou /Huanglong)

Say goodbye to Shunjiang horse trekking and come back to Chengdu or you can choose to take public bus to Jiuzhaigou or Huanglong. End the trip.

Where possible 3 star hotels will always be provided, if the city or town does not have then the local guest house or monastery guest house will be provided (i.e. tent / dormitory bed, no private bathroom etc.)
Transportation will we be provided via a comfortable and clean car, minivan or tourist bus depending upon the groups size.
All necessary Yak(s) or Horse(s) with caretakers for portage of luggage.
All entrance tickets as noted in the tour's itinerary.
