Start off this tour with a stop at beautiful Yuyuan or more commonly known as Yu Garden. A lush must-visit spots for travelers from all over the world. Yu Garden's history dates back to the Ming dynasty. Experience the classical garden art that is famous along the south Yangtze river.
A short walk from the gardens will take you to one of Shanghai's Old Streets, that dates back to the late Qing dynasty and early Republic of China. Ramble along on this old street known as Miaoqian Dajie. A great place to grab some early souvenirs or taste some of Shanghai's famous snacks.
After snacking all morning or lunch, your choice, continue on the Shanghai Museum. One of China's best museum. It's a golden chance for you to learn about ancient China and view the more than 100,000 antiques, painting and calligraphy.
A 20 minutes drive across Shanghai will get you to Xintiandi, where cars are not allowed to enter. Built around a one typical Shanghai residential architecture known as Shikumen. With a strong French influence you can experience the integration of architecture and culture between China and the western world.
Head toward the Huangpu River that famously divides Shanghai massive city in half. You will already have noticed the ominous Pearl Oriental TV Tower an international symbol of Shanghai. Standing as the fifth tallest building in the world. Take a lift with your guide to the observation deck and have a commanding view of the city, like none other.
Relax after what will have been a full day with an evening dinner cruise along the Huangpu River or a Shanghai acrobatic show. Perhaps you want to visit some of the local pubs or bars, no matter your local guide will help make the plan a success. When done return to your hotel and recharge for tomorrow.
