From one great capital to another, arrive in Xi'an this morning for your second of ancient capital of China tour. Be greeted by your local guide and assisted to the hotel; the morning is left free to allow time to wash up from the train ride. Your Xi'an tour begins after lunch.
Start by putting a little history under you belt by heading to the Shaanxi History Museum and take a visit to the largest state museum in China, which houses over 300,000 items, including murals, paintings, pottery, coins, bronze, gold, well you get the idea. Don't expect to see it all but we will certainly show you the best. In addition be impressed by the museums architecture built in traditional Tang Dynasty style.
After visiting the museum, take a walk along the Xi'an City Wall, which is the largest and best preserved city wall in China. The existing part of the city wall was built in 1370 during Ming Dynasty, which are 12 m. (40 ft.) high, up to 18 m. (60 ft.) thick at the base. Now that is a wall! The wall forms a perimeter over 14 km. (9 mi.) in length. Then head to Shuyuan Men, an ancient street which presents the lifestyle in Tang Dynasty.
